Prior to acting, Shannon attended Triton College and Illinois State University, graduating with honors and her Associate in Arts Degree. She then went on to receive her Cosmetology license and decided to move out to California on her own in 2004. After graduating from the Master Program at Make-Up Designory, she began building her make-up resume in the industry.
Working on numerous sets and shoots as a make-up artist, she still had thoughts in her mind of acting. Even though she had been too shy in the past to set foot on a stage, she wanted to give it a go.
Shannon joined SAG in 2007. Her resume includes training at Upright Citizens Brigade and with Kip King for Improv, Scene Study at Santa Monica College, the Australian Institute of Dramatic Arts as well as various other classes/workshops. She loves to get involved with many different industry related groups as well. Aside from volunteering quite often at the SAG Foundation, she was part of the Young Storytellers program, attended Women In Film events and networking events. "I love the world of performing and I am trying to learn everything that I can about it".
After gaining a great deal of experience, she decided to move home to be closer to her family in 2010. About a week before departing LA, Shannon was a contestant on the well known show, 'The Price Is Right' and ended up spinning a dollar on the wheel and winning the Showcase Showdown! Her most recent project was co-host on a pilot called 'In Search of the Great American Street Musician'.
In between acting, Shannon works many promotional, spokesmodeling and narrating jobs and is also a Professional Make-Up Artist, Licensed Esthetician and Licensed Cosmetologist. She is also the Co-Chair on the Board for the Chicago Acting in Film Meetup.
